The Missouri Department of Agriculture, Office of the Deputy Director, Grants Management, has a full-time benefited position available. The position will be domiciled in Jefferson City area

Job Description:

This is a senior-level professional supervisory and administrative position responsible for directing the administrative tasks required to handle all department federal funds, reporting, and program implementation in a way that meets generally accepted standards as well as the requirements of the funding source. Ensures department grant accounting and financial systems are in order and can adequately keep track and report on income and expenditures. Ensures that required department programmatic grant reporting has a track record of meeting project schedules.

 Job Duties

The Director of the Grants Management Program is responsible for ensuring multi-state and statewide departmental grant seeking and grant making endeavors that reflect best practice, and that processes and systems are efficient and serve the needs of department staff, grantees, applicants and other stakeholders. Provides specific education and training, guidance and support to department staff and manage day-to-day grant operations. Is charged with providing exceptional leadership, daily direction, effective pre- and post-award management, high quality deliverables, and staff effectiveness with the Agriculture department, and outstanding customer service statewide. This includes submission of all grant applications, oversight of the application forms, the application process, pre- and post-grant administrative functions, grants-related information management, ensuring accurate data, reporting, and providing consultation, training and operational support to department and program staff. The Director of Grants Management economically impacts farmers and producers multi-state and statewide.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public or Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Public Health, or closely related field); and four or more years of professional experience in grant writing/management, project management, budget/fiscal analysis, or research and analysis.
